John Fletcher is an electrical engineer who specialises in power electronics, electrical machine drives and electric propulsion. John’s career focus is to drive culture change within university research to deliver impact through the commercialisation of practical solutions in the electrification of global energy systems.
 
As Professor of Energy Systems at UNSW Sydney, John is also Director of the UNSW Digital Grid Futures Institute, and leads the Electrification and Energy Storage Network for the NSW Government’s Decarbonisation Innovation Hub and the Electrification and Energy Systems and Storage, Federally-funded Trailblazer in Recycling and Clean Energy Technology (TRaCE).
